Amber Murphy, LCSW

A clinician who holds depth with care, precision, and presence.

Amber Murphy is a licensed clinical social worker LCSW (License #LCS76191) and the founding therapist at Nest Therapy. With over a decade of clinical experience - and more than ten years focused specifically on chronic pain and medically complex conditions - Amber has cultivated a practice rooted in safety, nuance, and attunement.

She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, where she continues to return as a guest lecturer - sharing her clinical insights with emerging therapists.

Specialized Support for Complex Health and Life Experiences

Amber’s work centers on women whose lives intersect with persistent pain and symptoms, medical complexity, and multifaceted life transitions. Her areas of expertise include:

  • Endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain symptoms

  • Chronic illness and fluctuating symptoms

  • Fertility challenges and reproductive loss

  • Perimenopause and menopause transitions

  • Anxiety and depression within the context of ongoing health stress

  • Relationship strain related to medical and emotional load

  • Life transitions that require steadiness and depth of care

She also provides support for partners and family members navigating the emotional terrain of loved ones with chronic conditions - helping each person balance care for others and care for themselves.

A Collaborative, Trauma-Informed, and Embodied Approach

Amber’s therapeutic style is rooted in trauma-informed care - honoring your lived experience and the ways your nervous system holds memory, safety, and threat.

Rather than offering quick fixes, she guides women toward a deeper understanding of how pain and symptoms function within the nervous system, integrates modern pain science and neuroscience, and partners with you in shaping meaningful change through a mind-body lens.

In therapy with Amber, you’ll find a clinician who:

  • Meets complexity with curiosity and respect

  • Gently expands your capacity for nervous system regulation

  • Supports authentic relational connection - with others and yourself

  • Helps untangle self-abandonment patterns with care and intention

  • Honors your pace, agency, and lived wisdom

Her aim is not only symptom reduction - but to help you feel safer in your body and more grounded in your world.

Informed by Personal Experience, Guided by Clinical Depth

Amber’s own journey with endometriosis and fertility challenges deeply informs her work. This lived understanding enriches her clinical perspective and supports an empathetic partnership with clients navigating similar paths.

She advocates for interdisciplinary care, collaborating with leading reproductive health and pain specialists in Los Angeles when appropriate - ensuring your therapeutic care feels grounded and supported across contexts.

Training, Supervision & Clinical Leadership

Beyond her clinical work with clients, Amber provides supervision and specialized training for other mental health professionals - focused on trauma-informed care for conditions such as Endometriosis, pelvic pain, PCOS, fertility complexity, hormonal disruption, and the emotional nuances of women’s health care.
